Forgiveness

There is a saying that states when you forgive someone it's like setting a prisoner free. The prisoner just happens to be you


I spoke about this a couple of months ago. How are you able to forgive the people that have hurt you? This is not a easy question. I have learned long ago that it is better to let go of the past, and move into freedom, then to stay in the past forever.


Several years ago, I slowly started to change my story, to change my mindset. To let go of the past and to forgive those that hurt me. I had to take responsibility for my actions, for my thoughts. When you hold on to the past, you can’t be in the present. It’s only in this “now” moment that your thoughts and words are powerful.


Forgiveness is a tricky concept for many people. We like to hold on to familiar feelings, blame, hurt, fear and anger, but these feelings are holding us back from living in the present moment. These feelings can go on for years and years until you realize that when you forgive, you set yourself free. It's your choice. You can choose to live in fear or anger, or you can choose forgiveness and live your best life. When we forgive someone , it doesn’t mean that you accept their behavior! True forgiveness lies in releasing yourself from the negative energy that you’ve chosen to hold on to.

  3. As I forgive myself, it becomes easier to forgive others.

  4. I am willing to forgive.

  5. I am ready to be healed.

  6. I am free.
